Hello and welcome to Waefler Violins

My name is Rolf Waefler and I am an independent violin maker based in the East Midlands of England and a graduate of the renowned 

Newark School of Violin Making (NSVM) and holder of J&A Beare's of London Diploma in Violin Making.

My passion is to make high quality stringed instruments entirely hand crafted in the Italian tradition.

I draw my inspiration from the great Italian masters and their methods so clearly described in Simone Sacconi's book 'The Secrets of 

Stradivari' (no secrets by the way, just solid craftsmanship).

I specialise in making bespoke violas with exceptional tonal qualities  - prices for all my instruments are reasonable 

and modest, affordable even for student budgets.
